When I was a kid, I would count the days until spring break. My mom would always have several fun activities for me to do during my week long break from school. Now that I’m a mom, I really appreciate my mom taking time out to plan fun activities for me.
As for activities for my kids, it’s important to get back to the basics. I remember one day I decided that my kids would have a screen free day. At first I was really nervous because now-a-days kids are always on screens whether it’s tv, tablets, phones, video games, etc. However, on this day I just laid out board games, sensory bins, arts and crafts, and had several outdoor activities for them in our backyard. The kids had so much fun and it was a very relaxing day for me. Now, I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with screen time. Trust me, my kids have their fair share of screen time especially when I need a break. But it was just nice to have my kids get back to the basics of having fun.
Whenever I’m planning activities for my kids, I focus on simple and easy activities that we can do from home or outside. This helps me to not feel stressed or overwhelmed when I plan simple and easy activities. I’ve also realized when I have activities planned out for my kids, they tend to have better days. Less tantrums and less arguments is a mom win. So here are 27 simple activities your kids can do on spring break.
