Love Baskets for kids! Growing up, my mom would always make holiday themed baskets filled with lots of goodies! It was a simple way to get excited and celebrate the holiday or the season. I remember my mom would create baskets for the first day of school, Easter, Halloween, and Valentine’s day. My mom was a teacher, so a lot of the items in the baskets had an educational and/or craft aspect to them. This tradition that my mom created filled me with so much joy and so many fun memories. So I decided to continue that tradition with my kids.
February is the month of love and gratitude so I decided to create these Love Baskets for my kids. Each of the baskets are filled with books, crafts, puzzles, sensory toys, and accessories. I like to keep the baskets simple with about 5-10 small items. The baskets are a small size wire basket from Target. I picked the color white for the baskets so I would be able to re-use the baskets for other holiday themed baskets for the kids. The small size baskets helped me so I didn’t add too much. I always want to keep these themed baskets simple and affordable. Target Bullseye is my favorite for browsing items to add to the baskets. The Target Bullseye section always has holiday and seasonal items for kids under $5. I wanted to personalize the baskets so I kept it simple. I bought the white wooden letters of the kids first name and ribbon at Michaels.
4 Quick Tips for Creating Love Baskets
1.Buy neutral color baskets so they can be re-used
2.Buy small size baskets so they can easily be filled with 5-10 small goodies
3.Shop at places like Dollar Tree and the Target Bullseye section for items
4. Books, sensory toys, puzzles, crafts are great options
I hope this has inspired you to create love baskets for your kids. Remember it’s all about finding ways to create memories with your kids. Be sure to check out my blog post Valentine’s Day Snack Boards for Kids.
