Summer break is here so my kids will be home with me all day. We have a lot of fun trips planned and a full bucket list of activities. Check out my blog post Stress-Free Summer Bucket List for Kids. This summer, I’ve been focusing on healthy snack options for my kids. My kids are very picky eaters. So I have to be very creative when it comes to finding healthy snacks. I decided to focus on finding ways to incorporate more fresh fruit for snacks throughout the day. But not just regular fruit. I came up with simple and creative ways to make the fruit more appealing to my kids. I also loved that this was budget-friendly.
Making the switch to healthier snacks for kids is not always easy. When I started doing more research on some of the ingredients in snacks for kids and the effects they have on kids, I knew I wanted to make a change. I’m no expert on healthy snacks. But I know making these small steps of switching to healthier snacks is going to have life long positive effects for my kids. So I will share some simple fresh fruit snacks and I’ll also share some of my favorite go-to brands when shopping for pre-made packaged snacks for my kids.
Tips for Fresh Fruit Snack Ideas
- Make a list of your kids favorite fruit before going grocery shopping.
- Slowly incorporate 1 new fruit per week for your kids to try.
- Take your kids to the grocery store and have them pick out the fruit
- Use Sistema Containers to prep and store fresh fruit snacks.
- Use cookie cutters to cut fruit into fun summer shapes.
