These homemade Lucky Charms treats are a fun way to celebrate St. Patrick’s day with your kids. Or this can be a fun treat to celebrate spring! The bright colors of the charms remind me of spring! I’m always finding simple and easy ways to celebrate the holidays and seasons. I love that this is a quick and easy recipe. This treat is very similar to Rice Krispy Treats, but made with Lucky Charms cereal. I love that this only requires 3 ingredients. I added the fun rainbow decorations that I bought from Target and I found these cute matching rainbow plates. So here are all the details for you to make your own homemade Lucky Charms treats.
Ingredients
5-6 cups of Lucky Charms cereal
4 cups of marshmallows
¼ unsalted or salted butter
green sprinkles (optional)
Directions
- Melt the butter in a pan on low-medium heat.
- When the butter has melted, slowly add in the marshmallows and stir. The marshmallows will begin to slowly melt. Keep stirring until all the marshmallows are melted and the butter is fully mixed in.
- Take the pan off the heat and slowly add in the Lucky Charms cereal and mix together.
- Add mixture into a baking pan (tip: I found it to be easiest to grease a roller with non-stick spray so the mixture doesn’t stick to the roller).
- Wait 5 minutes and then use a cookie cutter to cut into whatever shape you want. I used a circle cookie cutter.
Tips
This is a really quick and easy recipe. My only tip is to use grease or a non-stick spray on a roller or on your hands when you’re spreading the mixture into the pan.
